What changes the price
- Hours. Packages are built around 3 to 4 hours. Each extra hour is billed separately.
- Sound and lighting. A DJ on the hotel's house sound costs less than one who brings a PA, moving heads and a full booth.
- Live add-ons. A saxophonist, percussionist or singer adds AED 1,500 to AED 4,000 each. See DJ with a live saxophonist.
- Venue access. Beachfront venues, yachts and rooftops often need extra crew hours for setup and pack down.
- Day and season. Fridays and Saturdays from about October to April are in higher demand than a weekday in summer.
- Announcements. Some DJs include light MC duties, others charge more. A dedicated MC adds AED 2,500 to AED 5,000 at a wedding.

The mistake that costs the most
Booking a DJ without confirming who supplies the sound system. Some hotel ballrooms include house sound in the room hire. Others expect the DJ to bring a full PA. If you assume it is included, a sound rental fee of AED 2,000 to AED 5,000 can appear days before the event, when it is too late to compare. Ask this before you confirm. The planning guide lists the other checks.
Corporate events
A DJ for a product launch or mall activation usually plays a 1 to 2 hour set for AED 3,500 to AED 8,000. Gala dinners book premium DJs because large rooms need a stronger sound system. See DJ for corporate events.
